| D.O. ALMANSA Almansa became a D.O. in its own right in an attempt by the authorities to reduce the size and clout of La Mancha. Of all the bodegas in the region Bodegas Piqueras, the producer
of our Castillo de Almansa wines, is the most noted. |
| | D.O. MONTERRIE A small production region with only four bodegas in the North of Spain, which produces lip-smacking wines from the little known Godello, Teixadura and Dona Branca grapes. |
| | D.O. NAVARRA Navarra is at the forefront of Chardonnay production in Spain. In order to produce modern style white wines, leading bodegas age white wines in oak for three months as well as blending Chardonnay with Viura. The results are quite outstanding.
|
| | D.O. RUEDA Despite the fact that the Rueda area is red meat-eating country, it produces some of the best white wines to be found in Spain. Its modern production techniques produce wonderfully refreshing wines from the Viura, Verdejo and Sauvignon blanc grapes. |
| | D.O. VALDEPEÑAS Although this region is known for its red wines, it does also produce outstanding whites and rosados (rosé). Due to changes in trends and local legislation, bodegas are now producing whites made from Macabeo and Chardonnay grapes instead of the more traditional Airen variety. |
| | D.O.C. RIOJA Most Riojan whites are made from the Viura grape, which in the right hands can produce wonderful aromatic and refreshing wines. When aged in oak it takes on a whole new character. |
| | VdlT. De CASTILLA Although not of D.O. status, the region is one to watch. Many of the areas wines are produced by well-known companies from more familiar regions such as Rioja as in the case of the “Acantus” range of wines.
